A CURATED COLLECTION OF ARTIST MULTIPLES

'Circles of Time' by Jane Ross

DSC04822.JPG

2 editions of 10 - small - 70 x 70 x 22mm
large - 90 x 90 x 22mm
large round glass paperweight, black and white vintage photograph, velvet backing - 2020

A blurring of time and memory, these paper weights are capsules of the past. Jane Ross is attracted to vintage found photos that evoke unknown people, places and histories. She reclaims these old torn photos: some are left intact, while others are layered digitally into her contemporary black & white photography.

About Artist Multiples

Artist multiples are a series of objects produced in small and limited editions. They can be created by an artist, a maker, a crafts-person or any kind of creative person. Creating a numbered set of multiples is especially useful when using production techniques that are not viable for producing one-off pieces, for example printing, laser cutting or casting.

The objects can be functional, sculptural, wearable, gift-able or hangable. They are made specifically for sale and are offered at an affordable price to encouraging distribution to a wide audience. Historically, multiples were seen as an alternative and more democratic means of creating and disseminating artwork, outside of the mainstream art market.
