Overwhelmed by Duck Weed

We returned from our summer holidays to find an electric green blanket spread over the entirety of the pond. Pretty at first sight, it was a novelty to see such a great expanse of such a bright colour. Later we discovered the immensity of the job that lay before us - months of daily trips down to the pond to scoop out the duck weed that was close enough to the shore for us to reach.
